Mitsuhiko Sasao is known as the Painter of Red for such iconic works as his vivid red flowers and florist shops in Paris. He has a sophisticated and refined color sense, which has attracted a devoted following. The themes and concepts of his artwork and his eye for composition are considered unique. Born in Shizuoka prefecture.

Graduated from design course, Tama Art University. He was active in the advertising industry, serving as a creative director at a foreign-affiliated advertising agency and becoming vice president of production. While working, traveled to Europe many times, especially to Paris. Began painting in his free time.
