Koji Yoshioka has been praised as “a poet of colors” by the late poet Takashi Tsujii. His paintings depict Europe, the Mediterranean Sea and other land- and seascapes with bold and uninhibited colors. Yoshioka’s work achieves a perfect balance between the abstract and the figurative, and his expressions of multilayered space create surprise and draw viewers into his mesmerizing worlds.

1943  Born in Osaka, Japan.
1967  Enrolled in École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
1975  Became an official member of the Salon d’Automne (at age of 31, the youngest Japanese artist at that time).
1981  Returned to Japan from 14 years in France.
2006-2007  Articipated in the Shanghai Art Fair.
2007  Solo Exhibition at Shunten Gallery (Shanghai).
2011  Participated in Charity Exhibition for Great East Japan Earthquake (Kochi/Takamatsu) and presented Koji Yoshioka Print Exhibition.
2013 Solo  Exhibition at Soochow University (Taipei).
June 2018  Solo Exhibition’ Aegean Sea ~ Sicily, Marla ‘at Bunkamura Gallery (Tokyo).
November  2020 Solo Exhibition’ Paris~ Mont Saint Michel, Nice ‘at Bunkamura Gallery (Tokyo).
